Mickey came to St Francis Bay in 1995 leaving a life in advertising behind and started the Housekeeper and the Letting Company. She sold both in 2000 and took a year off, during which time she re-joined the gym and started to play golf. She served on both the ladies and men’s committees, served as Vice Lady Captain and Lady Captain.
In 2001 she sold Nevil Hulett’s last canal development, a project that took a few months instead of the estimated 5 years! She established Absolutely Water in 2002 and is now also working for TAG Yachts, leaving little free time between both businesses for sport… but dabbles in a bit of cycling, paddling, sailing and gym to keep active. Mickey’s greatest sporting achievement was having been awarded her SPA (Surf Proficiency Award) at the age of 16 when she entered Surf Lifesaving as the first women in South Africa. During her growing up years she was extremely active in competitive tennis, horse riding, swimming, lifesaving and squash.
