Magiclight MTB Night Ride and Trail Run (20 Dec)

The first event in this year’s Sanex St Francis Sport Summer Series is the Magiclight MTB Night Ride and Trail Run on December 20, a new event on the sporting program with the promise to be big and exciting!

This race will start and finish at Squid Square, Port St Francis where you can register just outside Fish and Cheaps from 19:00 to 19:45. The 10km trail run starts at 20:00, taking you down to Shark Point, over the Cape St Francis Beach and back to the Port running on single track.

After a short recovery period the MTB Night Ride will start at 21:00, following a circuit past Otters Landing, through the fynbos on single track, back along St Francis Drive (on the grass) into Leighton Road and down to Port St Francis where you will follow the wooden walkway back to Squid Square to tick off your first lap. The winner is the one who can do the most laps.

Participants can do both or only one of the events – this is not a team event. Each participant will receive a map, the route will be well marked but the rest is up to you! While the race is on supporters can wait at one of the many restaurants at Port St Francis and the prize giving will take place just after 10:00 on Squid Square.

The entry fee is R50 per adult and R30 for under 17’s. All first three positions will receive a St Francis Sport medal as well as a gift hamper from Sanex. Two lucky draws are up for grabs  – a PD800 lumen flashlight to the value of R2100 as well as a Podio Luminadio (bike light and MP3 player combo) to the value of R1 600 sponsored by Magiclight.
