Annual St Francis Sport Summer Series kicking off 16 December 2020
For the last 14 years sports lovers in the greater St Francis were able to add friendly rivalry or stiff competition to their annual holiday programme. Professional athletes enjoy competing without pressure and the entire family can participate with grandparents supporting from the side. The annual St Francis Sport Summer Series between 16 – 31 December ensures a full and fun filled holiday programme for all runners, paddlers, swimmers and cyclists.
The 2020 programme is:
Wednesday, 16 December 08:00 Cape St Francis Resort Road Run & Walk (5km & 10km), Cape St Francis Resort.
Thursday 17 December 08:00 Summer Series Duathlon Swim & Run (500m swim/3km run, 1km swim/6km run – teams or individuals), Quaysyde, St Francis Bay.
Friday 18 December 08:00 Bruce’s Ocean Triathlon (500m ocean swim/12km MTB/5km trail run – teams or individuals), Granny’s Pool, St Francis Bay. Reserve dates 19 & 20 December.
Monday 21 December 08:00 Summer Series Extreme Duathlon (5km run/15km MTB or 10km run/30km MTB – teams or individuals), St Francis Field.
Tuesday 22 December 08:00 Summer Series Canal Swim (bank2bank, 500m, 1km, 2km, 3km), Quaysyde, St Francis Bay.
Wednesday 23 December 08:00 TCS Sand River Trail Run (5km, 14km, 21km), Eskom Conservation Reserve/Dune Ridge Country House, St Francis Bay.
Saturday 26 December 16:00 Endless Summer Open Water Swim 2,3km, Port St Francis – Granny’s Pool, St Francis Bay. Reserve days 28, 29, 30 December.
Tuesday 29 December 08:00 Summer Series Beach Run & MTB Ride 15km), Walskipper, Jeffreys Bay – Quaysyde, St Francis Bay.
Wednesday 30 December 08:00 Pam Golding Quadrathlon (500m swim, 12km cycle, 3km run, 3km paddle – teams or individudals), Quaysyde, St Francis Bay.
Wednesday 30 December 19:30 Summer Series Full Moon Charity Run & Walk (5km), Coastal Collective, Cape St Francis.
Thursday 31 December 08:00 Summer Series MTB Challenge (15km, 30km), Eskom Conservation Reserve/Dune Ridge Country House, St Francis Bay.
Due to Covid-19 protocol, online entries will be done to ensure traceability and a smooth number collection in the morning, and is available from 1 November on Entry Ninja.
If you enter before 5 December 2020, a fee of R400 will give you a permanent number and individual access to all Summer Series events, and you will receive a 2020 Summer Series t-shirt. Entries before 15 December @ R400 will give you a permanent number and individual entry to all the events. Thereafter the entry fee is R100 pp for adults and u/17’s, and R80 for u/14’s. Please bring the correct amount on the day.
Entries will be limited to 300 per day, with batch starts of 50.
Spectators will be limited to those who second, and prize givings kept short and sweet. Certificates are handed to the top 3 Male and Female winners in each category.

Other events over season includes the Talhado Charity Run on 24 December and the FOSTER Charity Trail Run on the 28th of December, also from the Cape St Francis Resort.
The St Francis Paddling Club is organising three diverse events throughout season, the Carey Olsen Shark Point Surfski Race (20 December), the Sporty Anderson Memorial Surfski Race (28 December) as well as the New Year’s Day Canal Canoe Challenge.
