The announcement of Level 3 on Monday 28 December forced us to make a few decisions.  After discussing the impact of Level 3 on our events with the Kouga Municipality as well as with our sponsors, we have made the following decisions:

WHAT IS STILL ON:
The Custom Construction MTB Challenge on Thursday 31 December WILL take place. We have 2 categories so can easily split the field – plus it is a “ry and gly” scenario – arrive for race briefing, enjoy your ride and go home. No spectators will be allowed inside the Dune Ridge/Eskom gates.

WHAT HAS BEEN POSTPONED:
The Pam Golding Properties Quadrathlon will NOT take place on Wednesday 30 December but at a later date soon to be announced. This is a multi-disciplined event where contact between people is possible, and we don’t want to jeopardize anyone’s safety.

As this is the highlight of the Summer Series, we want to be able to enjoy it 100% and the current uncertainties are not ideal. As the canals are still open, we might not have to wait till the 14th of January for a new date – stay in contact with us.

The Gabriel’s Jewellers and Watches Beach Run/Walk & MTB Ride will have to move till after the 14th of January, as well as the Endless Summer Open Water Swim. New dates to be announced after the President’s talk on the 14th.

WHAT IS CANCELLED:
The Full Moon Walk & Run is also cancelled, as we are not allowed on either the beach or around the Seal Point Lighthouse. Enjoy the rising moon from your own porch!

Those affected by the pandemic, either ill at home or in hospital or in isolation, you are in our thoughts and prayers. Please look after yourself.

St Francis Sport Team and Sponsors

For the last 14 years sports lovers in the greater St Francis have been able to add friendly rivalry or stiff competition to their annual summer holiday program.  This year will be no exception, as the annual St Francis Sport Summer Series will take place between 16 and 31 December.  Runners, paddlers, swimmers and cyclists, get ready!  Our aim is to offer safe events with reduced crowding on the day – starting with online entries.  You will also be able to enter for the entire series at a fixed rate which results in a huge saving!  Entries are open on Entry Ninja – for series entries click here,  and for individual entries, click here.

What else is new?

In order to offer safe events, we have introduced

– online entries to reduce queuing on the day;

– entries will be capped, so on the day registration cannot be guaranteed;

– you can enter for the series at a reduced price, get a permanent number so you only have to arrive in time for race briefing;

– sadly we will have no prize giving ceremonies, but full results will be announced live on social media a few hours after the race and we will issue digital certificates to top 3 male and female winners in each age category (open, under 18 and under 14);

– two Casio G-Shock watches are up for grabs by the male and female who did the best in the most events, sponsored by Gabriel Jeweller and Watches in Fountains Mall, Jeffreys Bay.

Series entries:

The first 300 entrees to reach us before 5 December will get individual access to all 11 events for only R400, plus a Summer Series buff (also new on the cards!) and a permanent number.

Entries to reach us before 15 December will get individual access to all 11 events for only R400, and a permanent number.

Individual entries:

R100 for Open and Under 18’s

R80 for Under 14’s.

(If you were 14 on the 1st of January, you are under 14).

Team events:

Series entrants will be able to add team members to their profile.  Each team member must enter individually for the event.  Each person will receive an individual number.  Last minute team decisions are ok – bring a piece of paper with full information (names and if available permanent numbers) to the registration table before the race.

Race numbers can be collected before the race from the registration table.

NO NUMBER, NO PARTICIPATION

On the day entries:

Online entries will not close, it will be possible to register at the event on the Farmerscart App, or on LekkaBuy App.  Only emergency entries on the day will be allowed at R120 for Open and Under 18’s, and R100 for Under 14’s.  Please bring the correct amount as we won’t be able to give out change.  Take note, as entries will be capped, on the day registration will not be guaranteed.
