Enter now for the 2020 Bestmed Chokka Trail Run

Our 5th annual Bestmed Chokka Trail Run will once again take place over the Women’s Day long weekend in August to ensure a long and relaxed stay at our host venue, the Cape St Francis Resort.

Online entries

Online entries are open till Friday 7 August at 18:00 to ensure a smooth number collection on race weekend, when a late registration fee is payable, however, if you want to receive the race shirt or buff as part of your entry, you need to get your entry in before the 30th of June, 2020.

The main races will take place on Sunday 9 August while the 5km and kids races will take place on Monday 10 August.  Prize giving will be at 12h00 so you will have ample time to get home.  There are 7 well stocked water stations in total.

Late registration and number collection will be on Saturday 8 August between 16h00 and 18h00 at the Cape St Francis Resort.

Details for Sunday are as follows:

62km:  Race briefing is at 06h15 and the race starts at 06h30.

42km:  Late registration from 06h00 – 06h30, race briefing at 06h45 and the race starts at 07h00.  Prize giving for these distances is at 15h00.

23km:  Late registration from 07h00 – 07h30, race briefing at 7h45 and the race starts at 08h00.

10km:  Late registration from 07h00 – 08h00, race briefing at 08h15 and the race starts at 08h30.  Prize giving for these distances will be at 12h30.

On Monday 10 Aug 5km late registration can be done between 08h00 and 08h30, race briefing is at 08h45 and the race starts at 09h00.  Entries for the 1km and 3km can be done from 08h00 till 10h00 and race briefing is at 10h15 for the 3km.  The 1km race will be done straight after the 3km race.  Prize giving for all is at 12h00.

Entry fees:

62km:  R1 000 which includes a race shirt (until 30/06/2020) and tracker

42km:  R700 which includes a race shirt (until 30/06/2020) and tracker

23km:  R250 which includes a race buff (until 30/06/2020)

10km:  R150 which includes a race buff (until 30/06/2020)

5km Charity Run:  R300

5km:  R50

3km:  R30

1km:  R20

Additional race shirts and buffs can be ordered until 30 June 2020 at R220 per shirt, and R50 per buff.  Please note a late registration fee of R100 per entry will be charged after 19h00 on Friday 7 August.

Charity Challenge

Businesses, schools and charity organisations are invited to participate in the 5km Charity Challenge which is a team effort.  Teams of 4 run (or walk) 5km, and their individual finishing times added together is the team’s time.  The winning team will win a Bestmed hamper, a Team Building Event from the Cape St Francis Resort as well as R3000.00 for their nominated charity or school.  If more than 10 teams enter, they all will go into a lucky draw to win a Bestmed hamper, a Team Building Event from the Cape St Francis Resort as well as R1500.00 for their nominated charity or school.

Beneficiary

The beneficiary of the Bestmed Chokka Trail Run is the Beach Clean-up Project.  The race is organised by St Francis Sport, sponsored by Bestmed Medical Aid and hosted by the Cape St Francis Resort.

Archery is a sport for the whole family.  At Zingela (on the main road between Humansdorp and Jeffreysbay) archers get together each month to make their arrows fly with either traditional or compound bows.

Apart from the monthly East Cape 3D competition, Zingela opens their courses for archers to practice and offers lessons.

Monthly shoots:

Registration is between 07:30 and 09:15.  Cubs start at 08:30 and adults and juniors at 09:30.

Due to the number of archers attending the shoots, be on time!  Sharing of a bow is allowed by not arrows.  Traditional archers hiring bows, please be advised that any arrows lost will be charged at R60 per arrow.  And pre-book.

Fees:  Adults:  R80, Juniors R50, Cubs R40

Fees for 2011:  Shoot prices:  Adults R80, Juniors R50, Cubs R40, 3D-range R60 per head per round.  Flat range fee R10.

New facilitation fees:  Once off yearly fee:  R180 per adult, R120 per child (age 17 and under), family rate R280 per year.  Should you choose to pay the yearly fee, a R10 reduction will apply to all shoots, 3D range fees and no flat range fee will be charged.

Monthly shoots 2011:  March 12, April 2, May 14, June 11, July 23, August 13, September 10, October 15, November 12, December 3.

Directions to Zingela:

From Port Elizabeth: Take N2, then R102 to Jeffreysbay, at the cirlce continue on R102 to Humansdorp – about 11kms on from circle you will find Zingela turnoff on the left.

From Knysna:  Take N2 to Humansdorp, when you get to stop in Main Street, turn left, continue for about 2 km and find Zingela on your right.
